A cinematic promoting the auction of a 1964 ferrari 250 lm at monterey car week

Same day production accomadation…

RM Sotheby’s, an established automotive auction house, reached out to DFYND with urgency. They were in need of a promotional video for a 1 of 32 1964 Ferrari 250 LM that was going on auction within a week at Monterey Car Week. The planning and shooting of this promotional piece was to take place that very same day.

As the 250 LM was to be driven out on stage, the promotional cinematic was to be played alongside. Online bidders would also be able to view the video on RM Sotheby’s website.

RM Sotheby’s requested a video that would be eye-catching, and demonstrate the feel of the car by highlighting its symphony of V12 sounds.

Given the reigns of creativity, DFYND opted to for a on location lighting setup to light the car in a unique way as the shoot was to take place that very night. With no time to waste, DFYND assembled a small two man crew and took on the project. As the car was to be ultimately sold for $17,000,000, it was important that video highlight the running condition of the vehicle, as well as it’s pristine condition. It is only one of a handful that have survived this long since 1964 out of the 32 ever made by Ferrari.
